Questions regarding peddlers license?

So I am looking into getting my peddlers license (state of Alabama if it matters) to sell my home made products at local events (flea markets, trade days, etc). I called the court house today and found out that it is $150 +/- for just the license not including what/when I have to pay for city, county and state taxes. First of all, when I get this and file taxes next year will I just have to show proof of purchases (my supplies) and proof of sales? Also how (or should) I get insurance? I am not selling anything hazardous.... well not that I think is anyways. What if I just had a disclaimer that everyone had to sign? Please advise with any information you think will be beneficial. I am just trying to get all of my ducks in a row! Thanks! .... and no rude comments either please.
