Why does my iPod keep tuning off in the middle of movies!?

The power doesn't shut off, but it will exit out of the movie in the middle of it! What is up with that? I'm trying to entertain my boss' 3 year old daughter at work with FINDING NEMO on my iPod! She's losing interest because it keeps shutting off!!! HELP ME QUICK!
